The Flavor Apprentice (TFA) is a leading producer of water-soluble flavourings.
Sour is an acidifying additive that wakes up fruits, berries and candy/soda profiles with crisp, clean tang. Great for balancing sweetness and adding sparkle. Use: Concentrate that must be diluted. TFA flavours are water-soluble and PG-carried; some may contain traces of organic acids/ethanol. Note: We purchase in bulk and re-bottle into smaller sizes (not the original packaging).

Tips for this flavour
- Dose low: 0.25–1% is usually enough; above ~1.5% can get sharp and thin.
- Revive dull fruits: 0.25–0.5% on strawberries, apples, tropicals and berries.
- Candy/soda builds: pair with Lemon/Lime, Cola, Sweet & Tart for fizz and bite.
- Balance edges: smooth any harshness with 0.25–0.5% Marshmallow or Vanilla Swirl.
- Mind creams: higher acidity can mute creams/custards—keep the % low in desserts.
- Steeping: 0–3 days—acidity settles quickly; tweak after a short rest.
